We have outfitted our Rideau cottage with everything needed for an amazing vacation. We are happy to share our vacation home with your family; however, during your stay we hope that you will help us keep up the quality and cleanliness of the property. To help us maintain a beautiful vacation cabin experience for us and all our guests, we ask that you please following these simple house rules:
- Kindly remove footwear upon entering the cottage;
- Do not smoke inside the cottage or in the cottage screened porch;
- Remember that pets are not permitted at the cottage;
- No more than 4 primary guests are to stay at the cottage. The number of guests at the cottage during the rental period shall not exceed 6 people at any time;
- Do not cause or create a nuisance in any way, including, but not limited to, refraining from playing loud music inside or outside the property at any time to cause excessive noise that would disturb the neighbours;
- Do not move or rearrange any furniture inside or outside the cottage;
- Do not flush sanitary items down the toilet;
- Do not sit on furniture in wet bathing suits;
- Do not roll or drag luggage or any items across the flooring;
- Do not use a barbeque or grill in the cottage or the cottage screened porch;
- Please ensure that absolutely no garbage, recycling, food, or personal items are left in the cottage upon check out;
- Please load and run the dishwasher prior to your departure;
- Please maintain the cottage at all times in a good and tidy condition during your stay;
- Upon departure, please leave the cottage in the same condition of cleanliness as you found it on your arrival date; and;
- The legal stuff : RELEASE FROM LIABILITY AND COVENANT NOT TO SUE. Participants (ie the person(s) renting the cottage), for themselves and their personal representatives, heirs, next of kin and assigns, hereto release and discharge the cottage property owner and each of their respective relatives, parents, subsidiaries, owners, partners, employees, representatives and other affiliates as well as the property owners of adjacent properties to the cottage (collectively, the “Releasees”) from, waive in respect of each and covenant not to sue any of the Releasees for any and all liabilities, losses, damages, costs, expenses (including, but not limited to, attorneys’ fees and expenses), causes of action, suits and claims of any nature (collectively, the “Liabilities”) arising from, based upon or relating to the personal injury, death, damage to or loss of property of the Participants, their family members, guests or visitors sustained in connection with participation in the use of the cottage or the surrounding and adjacent properties (hereinafter “Release”). Such Release, shall include, but not be limited to, any and all Liabilities caused in whole or in part by the negligence of any Releasee or the surrounding and adjacent property owners in connection with any and all activity. PARTICIPANTS ASSUME RISK. The cottage is located on a large rural waterfront property. Risks include, but are not limited to, trip/slip and falls, falling trees or limbs, burns, insect/parasite bites and/or infections, thin lake ice, drowning, interaction with off road/farming vehicles and interaction with animals. Participants are aware of and understand the inherent risks, dangers and the potential for injury that exists with regard to wooded and waterfront properties, in both the summer and the winter, and agree to assume all risk of and responsibility for personal injury or death to, or damage to or loss of property of the Participants, their children, guests and visitors arising from or relating to participation in any and all activities at the cottage and areas and properties surrounding the cottage. Such assumption of risk includes, but is not limited to, any damages resulting from personal injury or death, or damage to or loss of property, arising from, based upon or relation to the lack of skill or improper conduct of any person, the acts or omissions of any parent, child or visitor, and any personal injury or death, or damage to or loss of property, caused in whole or in part by the negligence of any Releasee. The Participant agrees to indemnify the cottage owner for all losses claimed against the cottage owner, including any legal defence costs, during the rental period for any and all liabilities, losses, damages, costs, expenses (including, but not limited to, attorneys’ fees and expenses), causes of action, suits and claims of any nature (collectively, the “Liabilities”) arising from, based upon or relating to the personal injury, death, damage to or loss of property of the Participants or any of their family members, guests or visitors sustained in connection with participation in the use of the cottage or of the adjacent properties.
